It's a Girl - NO WAIT - It's TWIN Girls

My neice is officially pregnant with twin girls. HOW EXCITING IS THAT?

Her baby shower is this weekend so I thought I would crochet her a couple of gifts for the new baby's to be.
Here is what I have come up with so far.

I love the way they turned out - they are soooo soft. They are done in double crochet with the trim using single crochet. I thought the bow's were a nice touch for the baby's.
I am going to make matching booties this weekend - I hope I have enough time to get it done.
We have to clean out our gutter and wipe ceilings off in our home so it will not leave a lot of time to get them done. If I do I will post them.

Rug for Kitchen

This is a start to a rug I am making for my kitchen. It is actually one of two rugs I am making. I am going to make the second one the same. One in front of my kitchen sink and the other for in front of my stove. It is going pretty slow because of course it is just crocheting in the round using single crochet with a huge crochet hook - so it is very boring. But am using the yarn in 4's to make it thick. I think once it is done it will be very nice.
Will post finished product when done.

Necklace

Here is a necklace I made from Acrylic yarn - It is three stranded using a simple single crochet and the closure button is with a vintage white pearlized button and the cream colored applique has a black pearlized button. It is a beautiful necklace but using acrylic yarn (which is what I have used here) wasn't probably the best choice. Maybe cotton would lay better - I wore this a few times and it didn't lay the best and didn't stay in place so I had to fuss with it throughout the night. Next time I will use different yarn - because it is a very nice piece

Finished Rag Rug

Finally, I am posting my finished rag rug. I finished it sometime ago and just haven't had time to post anything lately. But I gave this rag rug to, Beth, a friend of mine. She was pleasantly surprised.

We have had a very busy summer here so I have lots of things to post - so stay tuned.

Beatiful Rag Rug

This is still a Work in Progress.

I absolutely am having fun making the Rag Rug. It is obviously time consuming but is soooo worth it. I can't wait to finish it. It is just beautiful.

The pattern for this is here: Click here for pattern

I am using sheets for my rug and just love the colors. So will post the finished picture when done.

Book Thongs

I have made several of these for friends and family.
Got this really cool and easy pattern from Donna Hulka on Crochet Me: The Blog website: Click Here for Pattern

This Red one I use in my bible.

They work up very fast. You can make several in a few hours.

Green Puff Stitch Hat

This was a hat that I attempted to make using a little harder stitching so that I could get some practice and try to get better at crocheting.
It turned out very nice however it was a bit smaller than I cared for it to be.
I got the pattern off Creativeyarn's blog: Click here to view her blog and for the pattern: Click here for the PDF. Of course I used Hat #7 but changed it just a bit around the edge of the cap.
I might try to sell this one on ETSY.

Mom's Hat

My mom liked my sisters birthday hat so well she wanted one of her own.
So I made her hat with the same pattern I used for my sisters birthday hat.

I used this bow pattern for the bow on mom's hat.

I made this one bigger because mom has a bit bigger head than sis. But I think it turned out nice.

Used a j hook and just some acrylic yarn. Increased stitches more than the original pattern so it would fit moms head. She wanted it loose.

Sisters 40'th Birthday Hat & Cuff

I have made a few hats from a post I found on Crochet Me from Bmarchaj or By the Hook.

Here is the link -

It was the first hat pattern I attempted so it is not too hard of a pattern. But was fun to make - and her pattern was easy to read.

Also made the cuff - I just made it using DC. But I think it turned out nice.

I made this hat and cuff for my sister on her 40th birthday. You can see she has the hat on at her birthday party. She loves it.

Home Sweet Home

This is our humble abode. We really love it and have definite plans for it.

My hubby and I have agreed to have new siding put on - Log Cabin Style Siding. YEAH!!!!
I'm excited about that. We agreed on a medium color that has the knot's and the round siding to make it more authentic looking.

It will look great especially with the woods and Beaver River in our backyard.
We also plan to add a rock garden in back (thanks to sweet ole' dad who is a genius at creating rock garden's) - Will have to post pic's when that happens.
